(PRESS RELEASE) Last month the webinar attendance for Shane Decker and GN Diamond’s, Asaf Herskovitz, had record numbers for the ever-popular topic of lab created diamonds. In fact, it was so popular that time ran out and Part 2 of the lab created diamonds webinar will be held on Friday, June 24th at 2 pm EST.

While there has been much skepticism regarding lab grown diamonds, the fact of the matter is that they are HOT among buyers of all ages. Once GN Diamond became more familiar with Lab Grown Diamonds, we were pleasantly surprised with the brilliancy and craftsmanship of this option for loose diamonds and diamond jewelry. By having the reputable certification of IGI and GIA validating the color and clarity GN has deeply invested in this relatively, new market.

Many questions were asked of Shane and Asaf in this webinar on mark-ups, appraisal values, distinguishing features. The below provides some information to answer many retailers’ questions. We encourage everyone to attend the next webinar and participate in any questions at the end.

Lab Made Diamonds – Two Popular Methods:

There are two processes used to create Lab Grown Diamonds:

What is the Difference Between CVD and HPHT Diamonds? You cannot tell the difference between a CVD and HPHT diamond with the naked eye. Both methods create a real diamond that is chemically and physically similar to natural diamonds. When it comes to grading Lab Grown Diamonds, the same 4 Cs: Color, Cut, Clarity and Carat are applied.

Lab Grown Diamonds are real and have the same physical and chemical properties as natural diamonds. Visually they have the exact same durability and hardness level. Both come with diamond certifications. They are so visually alike that the differences cannot be seen to the naked eye.

Bil Holehan, the manager of Julianna’s Fine Jewelry in Corte Madera, Calif., decided to go on to the next chapter of his life when the store’s owner and namesake told him she was set to retire. Before they left, Holehan says they decided to liquidate some of the store’s aging inventory. They chose Wilkerson for the sale. Why? “Friends had done their sales with Wilkerson and they were very satisfied,” says Holehan. He’d enthusiastically recommend Wilkerson to anyone looking to stage a liquidation or going-out-of-business sale. “There were no surprises,” he says. “They were very professional in their assessment of our store, what we could expect from the sale and they were very detailed in their projections. They were pretty much on the money.”
