Rye, N. Y., has begun an agitation to bond the village for a modern sewerage system. The principal difficulties in the way are the non-incorporation of the village and the fact that two miles of main sewers must be built to connect the system with the Sound.

The flushing pumps of New Orleans are now pumping 10,000,000 gallons of river water through the gutters daily for the purpose of cleansing them of sewage.

Sidney, Ohio, and Goldsboro, N.C., hope to bond themselves in $41,000 and $50,000 respectively for sewers.
