Rye, N. Y., has begun an agitation to bond the village for a modern sewerage system. The principal difficulties in the way are the non-incorporation of the village and the fact that two miles of main sewers must be built to connect the system with the Sound.

The flushing pumps of New Orleans are now pumping 10,000,000 gallons of river water through the gutters daily for the purpose of cleansing them of sewage.

Rudolph Hering, C. E., of this city, is fellow consulting engineer with FIrnest Adams for the proposed $100,000 sewer system of Newark, N J.

A sewer will be built at Otsego, N. Y., to carry away the sewage which now empties into the open creek.

A sewer is to be built in Linden avenue, Middletown, N.Y.

An eighty-four to sixty-six-inch brick sewer is to be constructed in Paine street. Toledo, Ohio.

It will cost $50,000 to build a sewer system at Lyons, N.Y. The money will include the building of a disposal plant and pumping station.

Sidney, Ohio, and Goldsboro, N.C., hope to bond themselves in $41,000 and $50,000 respectively for sewers.

A vitrified stoneware drain pipe will be laid in Clare avenue, Albany, N. Y.
